The book “Warren Buffet wealth: principles and practical methods used by the world’s greatest investor” by Robert P. Miles has a wealth of information you might want to consider. In brief, the following are some of them:
Live below your means.
Associate yourself with people you admire.
Learn from the best.
Read voraciously.
Write down the person you want to be.
Write down the person you don’t want to be.
Reply to correspondence as soon as possible.
Invest long-term in a company you would want to fully own that is run for the benefit of shareholders by sensible managers.
Invest in a business that you know.
Have a knowledge of basic accounting and know how to read financial statements.
Then, more importantly, written on page 212 of the book is this and I quote:
“Keep in mind that although wealth is important, it is more than the accumulation of money and riches: it has to be about life, character, integrity, and giving back more than you take.”
Finally, I leave you with another quote from William Henry Channing found on page 222 of the same book and on another webpage:
“To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common--this is my symphony.”
